Camera Obscura – Museum zur Vorgeschichte des Films

Treasures and Museums

Get to see the biggest walk-in Camera Obscura in the world! It was set up in the listed Broich Water Tower at the Mülheim State Garden Show in 1992 by the company Carl Zeiss Jena. The museum invites you to take a fascinating journey through the world of visual perception – with optical illusions and the physical backgrounds of moving images. Since 2006, the tower has also been presenting a complete documentation of the prehistory of film on three further levels with unique exhibits from the KH. W. Steckeling's "S" collection.

Combine a visit to the Camera Obscura with a trip to MüGa-Park nearby or Schloß Broich (Broich Castle).

One free admission to the museum and the temporary exhibition as well as to the Camera Obscura demonstration
