Discover Industrial Culture
Explore the large walk-in Hansa coking plant sculpture and its extensive grounds! Whether young or old, you are invited to immerse yourself in the erstwhile working world of the former industrial plant between the rusty pipes, the huge machinery and the towers. The “Nature and Technology” tours of discovery invite the whole family to learn about the history of the coal and steel industry, and reveal the secret of how coke was made from coal. At the end of the tour, a highlight of technological history awaits you: the machine hall with its five giant compressors, one of which can be admired as a working example.
One free admission to the “Hansa black and white” guided tour of industrial history: Thu & Fri at 2 pm, Sun at 11 am. The grounds and museum are open to visitors free of charge.
