Welcome to Solingen, the “City of Blades”. In the 19th century, the town became a workshop in itself which manufactured knives, scissors and swords for the whole world – including Hendrichs forge. Visit this exhibition to see how red-hot blanks are forged into scissors with all of the bashing and hissing noises in the background. The museum tells the vivid story of the Solingen cutlery industry, while the exhibition in the former company mansion provides you with a glimpse into bourgeois life around the year 1900.
