LWL-Industriemuseum Henrichshütte Hattingen

Discover Industrial Culture

Sparks certainly flew when the blast furnaces of the Henrichshütte created liquid iron here for 150 years. The fires were extinguished in 1987. At this unique and original venue, the history of iron and steel is brought to life for you once again. Learn about the former places of work, watch liquid metal being cast into moulds, and ascend to the oldest surviving blast furnace at the location. Activities such as the Hütten safari, a tour with the “rat” mascot, and an excellent adventure playground are available especially for families.

One free admission to the museum, including free participation in one of the guided tours of the museum (daily) or the “rats’ tour” (Sundays)
