Haus Ruhrnatur Erlebnis Wasser, Klima und erneuerbare Energien

Treasures and Museums

The Haus Ruhrnatur (Ruhr House of Nature) nature museum of the RWW Waterworks Company is situated in an idyllic location on an island in the river Ruhr. The exhibition is located in a former school boathouse which is a listed building, and invites visitors to be hands-on. The fish from the river Ruhr, the small animals under the microscope and the sounds and smells allow visitors to experience the ecosystem of the Ruhr up close. The second part of the exhibition focuses on the topics of the climate and renewable energy. Children, teenagers and adults get to experiment with wind turbines, water turbines and solar collectors, and find out what they can learn from nature in terms of the topic of energy. Your visit ends at the museum café with a view over the water.

Combine your visit to the Ruhr nature house with a detour to the Wasserbahnhof Mülheim an der Ruhr or enjoy the view from Bismarckturm.
