Museum der Deutschen Binnenschifffahrt
Discover Industrial Culture
The German Inland Waterways Museum awaits your visit in a lavishly-restored Art Nouveau building. Relive the history of inland navigation with numerous models and media stations in two of the swimming halls at the former bathing establishment. Shipping from the Stone Age to the present day is presented as a multimedia experience that extends over three floors. Download additional information on the museum topics and exhibits in the form of audio files, videos, photos and texts on your smartphone. A guided tour is also available for children in German as well as a “simple language” option. The Oscar Huber and Minden museum ships as well as the Fendel 147 crane vessel await explorers on the towpath.
