Sauerländer Besucherbergwerk Ramsbeck

One free entry to the Sauerländer Besucherbergwerk with mining museum. Is not valid for special events.

Discover the world of a disused ore mine. Equipped with helmet and protective clothing, you will rumble 1.5 km into the Eickhoffstollen [Eickhoff tunnel] with the old mine train. 300 m underground, experienced mine guides will explain to you how lead and zinc ores were mined here until 1974. The blind shaft, which leads 420 into the depths and the huge double drum hoisting machine are particularly impressive. When the drill rig is demonstrated it gets really loud. Tools, machines and sparkling minerals in the historic pithead building tell you even more about the world of miners – in any weather, of course.
