LVR-Industriemuseum St. Antony-Hütte
Discover Industrial Culture
An idyllically situated half-timbered building by the Elpenbach pond in Oberhausen – you wouldn't expect heavy industry here. And yet you're standing in front of the first ironworks in the Ruhr Area – the St.-Antony-Hütte. LVR-Industriemuseum presents the St.-Antony-Hütte's exciting history in the former director's residence, where you can experience the beginning of the iron and steel industry in 1758. Directly opposite on the St.-Antony-Hütte excavation site, you will discover Germany's first industrial archaeological park, which brings the once pulsating ironworks back to life.
One free entry to the permanent exhibition and the LVR Industriearchäologischen Park [LVR industrial archaeological park]. Is not valid for special events and special exhibitions.
