Discover Industrial Culture

LVR-Industriemuseum Papiermühle Alte Dombach

One free entry to the permanent exhibition. Is not valid for special events and special exhibitions.

Germany's largest paper museum shows you how paper was once produced and still is today. And what the indispensable all-round talent can still do today. You can even make your own paper just like 400 years ago in the idyllically situated half-timbered complex. The highlight of the tour is the PM4, a paper machine from 1889 that is 40 m long and almost 5 m high. In the spacious outdoor area you will find further historical machines, the reconstructed mill pit and pond, various plants which paper can be made out of, a large themed playground and a cosy café.
