UNESCO-Welterbe Zollverein Zollverein-Führung Kokerei

Discover Industrial Culture

UNESCO Zollverein World Heritage Site is one of the most impressive industrial monuments in the Ruhr area. During the "Durch Koksofen und Meistergang" (Through the coke oven and hot alley) guided tour you will get to know an impressive industrial facility which was once the biggest central coking plant in Europe with its strange rooms, machines and walkways. You walk along the conveyor bridges, climb the coke oven battery “up to the roof” and experience the coking plant with its technology and history. You also get an impression of the hard work in the noise and heat. The exciting history from the decommissioning to the extensive transformation into a place of art, culture and the creative industries completes your overview.

Take a trip to Zollverein colliery with the Kulturlinie 107 and combine this with a visit to the Villa Hügel or the Margaretenhöhe garden city.
