The Museum of Art and Cultural History invites you on a journey through the centuries: paintings, sculptures, furniture and craftwork tell the story of past times. The history of Dortmund, the influence of industrialisation, the 1920s and rural Westphalia are brought to life. The museum is a piece of architectural history in itself: the oldest museum of its kind in the Ruhr area has had its stylish home in the former Stadtsparkasse building since 1983. The highlights include the Dortmund treasure trove and the Madonnas by Conrad von Soest.
