Maximilianpark Hamm
Adventure, fun & action
The Maxipark first opened its gates for the 1984 NRW Regional Garden Show – and continues to inspire visitors to this day. At the location of the former Maximilian colliery, visitors can enjoy a walk around the flowerbeds and shrubs planted by Piet Oudolf or set out on adventures with their kids. For example, climbing at the jungle playground, water fights at the water playground, boarding the pirate ship, and exciting treasure hunts in the former mine. You will also find the landmark of Hamm: a 35 m tall glass elephant, which is the perfect spot for a souvenir selfie with the whole family.
We also recommend making a detour to the Sri Kamadchi Ampal Tempel in Hamm nearby.
One free entry to the park including the glass elephant (not including the butterfly house)
All important information on the current situation and more can be found here. The butterfly house will be closed from January to February and November to December.
