In the Art District of Hagen, two different museums offer you a wide-ranging overview of art between objectivity and abstraction. Emil Schumacher Museum is one of the leading international locations for gestural-expressive painting from the second half of the 20th century – with paintings, works on paper, ceramics and porcelain. The Osthaus Museum Hagen offers visitors intensive encounters with artistic forms of expression, from classical modernism through to contemporary works. Temporary exhibitions in both museums provide for new areas of focus.
