Jüdisches Museum Westfalen
Treasures and Museums
They were miners and rabbis, artists and kindergarten teachers: in the permanent exhibition at the Jewish Museum of Westphalia, which opened at the end of 2018, visitors hear stories of lives that are both known and unknown. The areas on the Jewish religion and on the Jewish history of Westphalia have been redesigned. The exhibition is multimedia, multi-coloured and interactive. New areas address the topics of migration, social engagement, writing and language – and consistently cover everyday life in Westphalia. An exhibition trail for children, with a logo created by a world-famous woman from Dorsten, is also new. The old building is home to temporary exhibitions.
We also recommend visiting Wasserschloss Lembeck (Lembeck Water Castle).
