Hoesch-Museum

Treasures and Museums

At the historic Hoesch Museum, 160 years of the iron and steel history in Dortmund await your discovery. The exhibits from world of work and everyday life in the listed porter’s lodge at the Westfalenhütte steel mill illustrate how the steel industry shaped the region. Media stations and a 3D steel mill provide the link to the present day. The exhibition is sponsored by the “Friends of the Hoesch Museum” association. The direct location on the works premises, the picturesque woodland and steel and iron education trail, as well as additional large scale projects invite visitors to take their time. The permanent exhibition is complemented by up to four special exhibitions a year on history, art and culture.
