Gasometer Oberhausen

The first exhibition after the renovation of the gasometer showcases the beauty of nature and the impact that people have on their environment. The “Fragile Paradise” (Das zerbrechliche Paradies) takes you on a visually stunning journey through water, woodland and deserts. Impressive, prize-winning photography and videos show animals and plants in their changing habitats, as well as the interventions of people in the fragile ecosystem. The highlight of the exhibition in the 100 m high airspace of the gasometer is a monumental sculpture of the earth, onto which high resolution satellite images are projected.
